American equity markets rise on upbeat jobs data
FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - The US stock market climbed higher Thursday, notching early gains at the opening after upbeat economic data. In the United States, the Initial Jobless Claims (April 19) came in at 339K, against expectations of 351K. Moreover, Continuing Jobless Claims (April 13) yielded a figure of 3.00M, relative to projections of 3.060M.
Beginning with the indices and composites, the NASDAQ climbed +0.46% as it settles in region of 3284.47, up +14.98 points in these moments. In addition, the S&P 500 is trading in positive territory, operating at 1583.04, ascending +4.07 points or +0.26% at the time of writing. Finally, the Dow Jones has edged higher at the opening, trading in the zone of 14680.79, presently +0.03% after a movement of +4.49 points.
